Thiruvananthapuram > Three films from Calcutta will enthrall cinema enthusiasts at the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK). Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s ‘The Flight’, ‘Abraham’ by Konarak Mukherjee and Amitabha Chatterjee’s ‘Manohar & I’ are the Bengali films lined up this year at IFFK in the ‘Indian Cinema Now’ package.
It is an avowed fact that the Malayali cinephiles have always cherished watching Bengali movies in the fete. ‘The Flight’ strolls around the sudden impulses to explore unknown places which are then exposed in the most surreal, picturesque manner.
‘Abraham’ deals with an interpretive mythical tale of the title character which unveils the seemingly disturbing world of religious fanaticism, dogma and the wrath of the God along his judgement.
'Manohar & I’ portrays two solitary individuals who meet each other every day in the city of Calcutta and share the stories of their imaginary life.
