Four Days After Mother’s Death, Bollywood Actor Irrfan Khan Dies Battling Cancer

MUMBAI :  Bollywood  actor Irrfan Khan has died Wednesday morning after battling a rare form of cancer.  The “Maqbool” actor's mother aged 85 had died in Jaipur only four days back.

 

Khan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine  tumour in 2018 and flew to London for treatment. He returned to India in February 2019 to shoot Angrezi Mdium and headed back to London for continued treatment before coming back late last year. Khan was admitted to ICU in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital following colon infection a few days back.The end came early this  morning at the hospital, surrounded by his 'family and loved ones.'

 

Tributes flooded in from the film fraternity, prominent personalities and fans. Tweet from Amitabh Bachchan read “Irrfan Khan’s deth has left a void in Indian cinema and millions of broken-hearted,” Amitabh co-starred with  Khan  in the  blockbuster Piku.

 

The actor is survived by his wife Sutapa and two sons.
