IFFK Gets Off to a Start on Friday with the Screening of ‘The Insult’

Thiruvananthapuram> The eight-day 22 nd International Film Festival of Kerala commences today (Friday), with the screening of Ziad Doueiri’s Lebanese film, ‘The Insult’ at Nishagandhi Auditorium at 6 pm. Renowned actors Madhabi Mukherjee and Prakash Raj will grace the inauguration. The official inauguration and festivities have been called off owing to the aftermath of the Ockhi cyclone.

‘King of Peking’ at Tagore Theatre and ‘Holy Air’ at Kairali at 10 am, ‘Woodpeckers’ at Kalabhavan and ‘Dogs and Fools’ at Sree at 10:15 am, and ‘The Blessed’ at Nila at 10:30 am will be screened on Day One.

The festival features 190 films from 65 countries and will be exhibited in 15 theatres as 445 screenings. There are provisions for the delegates to book their seats for the films via the IFFK official website, mobile app, or the helpdesk. The helpdesks will be functional from 8am to 9pm and the bookings can be done one day prior to the screening. Special ramps and other facilities have been provided for the differently-abled who can avoid the hassle of standing in long queues. The film festival will come to a close on December 15.
