Streaming giant Netflix is set to release a sports-crime documentary series that seeks to examine the criminal side of sports. The show inaugurates on 6 October and will cover 6 major scandals in the sports industry and will mirror the role of greed in ruining careers and lives.
The films will range from massive scandals in the football world to racing, ice skating and basketball. The trailer teases among other crimes the 1994 point-shaving scandal at Arizona State University, IndyCar racer Randy Lanier’s marijuana-smuggling operatin and South African cricketer Hansle Cronje’s match-fixing scandal.
The stories come twined with firsthand accounts from athletes, coaches and law-enforcement officials world wide and promises to be an enthralling study of how greed can undo all glory and glamour a celebrated sportsman had within his reach.
