Bollywood veteran Rishi Kapoor has died this morning at a hospital in Mumbai, a news confirmed by megastar Amitabh Bachchan in his tweet “Rishi Kapoor just passed away….I am destroyed!”.
The 67-year-old actor has been battling cancer for 2 years now and had returned to India last September after an year in US for treatment. Kapoor was hospitalised twice in February with health issues and yesterday at HN Reliance Foundation hospital following uneasiness. The end came in early hours of the day with wife Neetu Kapoor by his side.
Son of Bollywood icon Raj Kapoor and grandson Prithviraj Kapoor, the actor is rmembered for his memorable roles in Bobby, Amar Akbar Antony, Laila Majnu, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz, Prem Rog, Chandini, Bol Radha Bol, Sagar and others.
He is survived by wife Neetu and son, actor Ranbir.
