State Film Awards: Best Actor Mammootty ; Best Actress Vincy Aloshious; Mahesh Narayanan Best Director

Thiruvananthapuram : The MinisterState Film Awards: Best Actor Mammootty ; Best Actress Vincy Aloshious; Mahesh Narayanan Best Director

The Minister For Cultural Affairs, Saji Cherian announced the 53rd State Film Awards. Mammootty was named for the Best Actor Award for his stellar performance in “Njan Pakal Nerathu Mayakum”.  Young actress Vincy Aloshious was selected for the  Best Actress award for her role in “Rekha” and Mahesh Narayanan clinched the Award for Best Director for the movie “Notification”.

“Nan Pakal Nerathu Mayakum” was directed b maverick Lijo Jose Pallissery. Kunjacko Boban was a close contest for the Best Actor award with his outstanding performance in “Nna Than Case Kodu”. He was chosen as recipient for the Special Jury Award for Best Actor. The best Character Actor award goes to OV Kunjikrishna for “Nna Thaan Case Kodu” and Devi Verma was chosen as Best Character Actress for “Saudi Vellakka”.

The jury was chaired by Bengali director, screenwriter and actor Gautam Ghosh. Chalachitra Academy Chairman Ranjith too was present at the press conference during the announcement.
