Thiruvananthapuram : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday, will inaugurate four projects costing Rs 31.61 crore as part of the ‘100 Days 100 Projects’ programme. The inaugural, presided by Health Minister Veena George, will commence at 4.30 pm today.
Two ICUs At Thiruvananthapuram Medical College
Two Intensive Care Units(ICUs) were installed in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College at its wards 7 and 8, after massive renovation carried out there. 100 ICU beds have been set up in these wards with view to impending Third Wave. Each of these beds are fitted with central suction for oxygen supply from centralised system. Also, in times of emergency, these beds can be connected to a ventilator.
Paika Community Health Centre Building
A building costing Rs 19.93 crores has been built at Paika Community Health Centre in Kottayam. Housed in the new building are : Casualty unit, observation room, 2 IP ward, minor operation theatres, OP section and palliative care unit
Drugs Testing Laboratory At Konni
A drugs testing laboratory is being opened in Pathanamthitta’s Konni , the fourth such unit in the state. With this, more than 4500 drug samples would be processed annually for test purposes.
1000-Day Programme In All Districts
The first 1000-Day programme implemented on pilot basis by Child and Women’s Development Department will extend to all districts. The first 1000 days, starting with pregnancy up to when the child completes 2 years, are crucial to child’s life. The programme is meant provide special attention to child’s growth and developmental needs during this time. The project comes at a cost of Rs 2.18 crores.
