Thiruvananthapuram : A 11-day-old infant was allegedly sold. The child was born in Thycaud govt hospital. The police recovered the child from the "buyer"and handed the baby into care of Child Welfare Committee(CWC).
The infant was allegedly sold to Karamana native for three lakh rupees. CWC is looking to find out who made the alleged sale and identity of the child's biological parents. The child was reportedly sold after birth.
The Health Minister has sought a detailed report on the incident with the Director of Health Dept. The minister also instructed for adequate protection of the child.
