Thiruvananthapuram> Eight ministers during UDF rule, including former chief minister Oomen Chandy and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala, have vigilance probes progressing against them, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed the Assembly. .
Cases pertaining to appointments handed out to relatives of these leaders, are in their final stages of investigations, he added.
Those named on the list of accused also included VS Shivakumar, PK Kunhalikutty and Thiruvanchur Radhakrishnan.
The vigilance director has received information on Chennithala's involvement in irregular promotion pertaining to IPS officer Shankar Reddy, CM told the Assembly.
Another probe against Chennithala, pertains to dishing out govt land to private tourism group. The probe in that case been concluded, the minister said, adding that, the govt is looking up the findings stated in the report.
Former CM Chandy's role in irregularities at Kannur airport is also being examined, apart from his involvement in cases against Chennithala's nepotism, Pinarayi said.Thalaserry court is presently looking into these cases, he added.
Former excise minister VK Babu has 2 cases pending, CM said. One pertains to illegal properties and other related to bar bribery case. Probe in the latter is complete and govt is closely examining the report, he added.
Ex-ministers Adoor Prakash and Kunhali kutty also face charges of conniving to fill-up 127 acre wet land at Ernakulam's Puthenvelikkara and Maduthampaddy in Thrissur.
Shivakumar is being investigated for illegal assets acquisition and corruption in allowing NOC to private medical colleges.

Apart from vigilance cases, investigation is in progress against former PWD minister PK Ibrahim n Palarivattom Flyover case and Oomen Chandy in Titanium corruption case, CM told the House.
When CBI draws up final report on Titanium, the list of accused could see changes, said Pinarayi in his reply to John Fernandez, B Satyan, N Vijayan Pillai and M Naushad.
