Pathanamthitta : Police in Koipram arrests youth for rape a 16-year-old girl on promise of marriage. Two of the accused’s friends, who also sexually assaulted the girl, were arrested as well.
The teen was abducted from home on bike and subject to rape at multiple locations. Arrested in the case is Jiffin George(27) resident of Vallikattu House in Chirayirmb Panacherimukh . He was arrested from Diya Veedu in Thiruvanthapuram’s Vazhayakunnumel.
The abuse came to light following complaint lodged by the victim’s mother. Jiffin fetched the young teen at first to a lodge in Kuttipuram on the 18th of April. There he sexually assaulted her, the victim said. Later on morning of 30th around 9 am, he took her to Konni and later boarded a train to Thiruvananthapuram. Next day, at a lodge in Mangalapuram, she was raped again.
Jithin’s friends who also sexually assaulted the girl were identified as Kuzhimannil Veetil Melvin T Michael (24) and Kottayam native from Marman Kandathil Veedu, Jimmy Thomas(24).. All three remain in custody.
