Kannur: A 16-year-old Muslim League worker has been arrested when he reached the polling booth hoping to cast falsified vote.

The incident took place early in the day at Kannur’s Panappuzha panchayat. The boy tried to vote, walking in as imposter for his older brother who works abroad. As officials at the booth checked into his credentials and discovered the fraud, police was summoned and the minor hauled away.

Similar  fraud was attempted in Kannur’s Muzhpilangad panchayat too, where a Congress worker, Mammalekandi Preman was arrested by police when he tried to vote for an absentee.
