Ezhamkulam : Twenty four families in Ezhamkulam severed their Congress, Sangh Parivar ties to join CPI(M). The CPI)M) District Secretary KP Udhayabanu welcomed the newcomers with traditional red garlands. Mandalam office bearers of BJP and RSS, Yuva Morcha presidents, local Congress leaders were among the mass exodus into CPI(M).
Soman , an office bearer at OBC Morcha – one BJP’s mass organisation, who also served as RSS Mandala Karyavah and was member of its Taluk committee snapped ties with BJP after working for the party over 32 years. BJP’s caste dominance factor prompted him to resign, Soman said at the reception event.
Raju and Vinod – the Yuva Morcha presidents from wards 14 and 15 all joined CPI(M) under the leadership of Congress local leaders Lalita, Anil and Harikumar. Most of the new entrants belong to Attukallil and Mankuttam area.
Ezhamkulam south Local Committee Secretary C Mohan presided at the reception meeting convened at Mankutam. BS Bose delivered the welcome note. Other speaders at the function comprised Area Committee member J Rajkumar, R Natarajan, Ezhamkulam Panchayat president VS Asha, Bijo M George, John Kutty, K Rajamma and Siju Raj.
