New Delhi : A massive fire erupted at a four-storey building in Delhi leaving 27 dead and 40 injured. The blaze occurred in a commercial building close to Mundak Metro station in western Delhi. 70 were rescued from the flames while dozens remain trapped in the building. Authorities fear the death toll to rise further. Fire started at office dealing with CCTV cameras and godown housed in the building.
The information on fire was received at 4.40 pm Friday evening, said Fire Force officials. Over 20 fire tenders were pressed into service and flames doused through late night. The cause remains unclear. Inspections at the building are underway.
