Thiruvananthapuram : The cabinet on Tuesday approved setting up of 28 more POCSO courts in state so as to facilitate early closure of POCSO and rape cases that are growing in number. With this there would be a total of 56 Fasttrack Special Court that will deal with POCSO cases.
Government shall sanction posts as the new courts get installed as per established staff pattern and appointment procedure. One post shall be allowed each for District Judge, senior clerk and bench clerk. One post shall be created for Confidential Assistant and Computer Assistant/LD Typis and two for Office Assistant. All employment shall be on contract basis.
New Posts in Fisheries
Posts shall be created in Fisheries Dept for setting up of Fisheries Stations in Alappuzha, Ponnani, Azhikode(Thrissur) and Kasaragod. One post shall be allotted for Fisheries Asst. Director, Assistant Fisheries Extension officer, Fisheries Office Clerk, Typist and Office Assistant Grade 2. Three posts for Fisheries Ordinent. Casual sweepers shall be hired on contract basis from the Employment Exchange.

It was decided to appoint K Ajit Kumar as District Govt Pleader in Kannur.
Sanction For Land
50cents shall be recovered of the the 70 cents of land lying with Palakkad Medical College, It shall be re-allocated to Palakkad municipality for construction of septage treatment plant. Land lying with the Revenue Dept shall be exchanged between the two departments as per existing rules.
