THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : In the largest single-day tally, 39 people tested positive for Covid-19 Friday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the media last evening. Of the 39 confirming presence of the virus, 34 are Kasaragod natives and 2 belong to Kannur while Thrissur, Palakkad and Kollam reported one case each. This is the first time Kollam reports a COVID case, said CM.
The state tally for those under treatment now stands at 164. 112 people have been admitted into hospitals newly today. The total number persons currently under quarantine is 1,10,299 of which, 616 are being monitored in hospitals and 1,09,683 in their homes. Samples from 5,679 people have been sent for testing. Everybody should comprehend the seriousness of the situation and continue to observe restrictions strictly, said CM.
