Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister KK Shalaja said the medical costs for treatment of 6-year-old Nepali girl, who was raped in Balussery, will be borne by state government.
The tragic victim is currently undergoing treatment at Kozhikode medical college. The hospital superintend has been spoken to for ensuring specialized treatment, said the minister.
A team of expert doctors are attending the child presently. Those involved in attacking the child will be dealt with stringent punishment, said the minister.
The main accused, a 33-year-old Unikulam native, Ratheesh, had attempted suicide last night by jumping from the police station’s first storey close to midnight on Friday.
