7 More Covid Cases Confirmed ; Special Action Plan Coming Up For Kasaragod : CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Seven new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the day, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The district-wise break up is : Kasaragod -2; Thiruvananthapuram – 2 ; Kannur -1 ; Trissue – 1 ; Kollam – 1 . With these,  the tally of active coronavirus cases now stands at 215.

Two  people under treatment in Patthnamthitta and Kannur tested negative for the virus. On the whole, there are 1,63,129 people under quarantine of whom, 658 are in hospitals and 1,62,471 at their homes.The labs have started to take in greater number of samples for testing, marking a significant progress.

At 163, Kasaragod has the highest number of people quarantined in hospitals. Kannur has 108 people and Malappuram 102.  A separate action plan is being formulated for Kasaragod given its wider spread, CM told reporters at the evening brief Tuesday
