Thiruvananthapuram : The Cabinet on Wednesday approved amendment that will lend added protection for health workers and staff at hospitals .
Punishment is stepped up to a maximum of 7 years imprisonment for those that turn violent towardhospital staff or its workers. The minimum term is 6 months. If there be discontent on any aspect of the Ordinance, the same will be considered in the Assembly and changes effected. The Ordinance marks realisation of a longstanding demand of the doctors.
