Nadacauv: RSS takes law into hands cutting off road access to an area in Kozhikode. Goons blocked off Thodyil Road in Vellayil and when police arrived to stop a march taken out by Mahila Association members and children, they found themselves held back by BJP workers in the area. RSS is insistent it will not allow any other political party to function in the area.
A family was ostracised and barred entry into Thodiyil temple for having left the RSS. Members of the family including women and children were also assaulted. RSS also attacked CPI(M) workers who were on collection round for the party’s District Sammelanam. The Mahila Association organised march against the attacks. To spoil that protest with provocations RSS fetched armed men from several localities, and camped them in the area. Eight vanloads of police personnel arrived to stop the march following which, women members moved over to protesting with sit-ins at the spot.
