Thiruvananthapuram : Police found scooter the accused used to fling explosives into AKG Centre on the night of 30 June. Crime Branch took into custody the DEO Scooter prime suspect and Youth Congress leader Jithin Koluthupuzha used in the crime.
The crime vehicle when forensically aligned to CCTV images of the incident, will clinch Jithin’s guilt foolproof and will help bring out other names involved given that the vehicle is not one that he owns and has remained concealed up to now.
Backdrop : V Jithin Kulathupuzha is Youth Congress Mandalam president of Attipra in Thiruvananthapuram. He was arrested by special team of police Tuesday morning. He was identified as culprit after investigations lasting two months came up with strong forensic evidences that pointed to him as firsthand perpetrator.
The incident took place on 30 June. After police condicted investigations initially, the case was transferred to Crime Branch. CCTV footage in the area showed a suspect on bike who approach AKG Centre from Kunnukuzhy road . He rides up to the gate as if to surveil and returns. He once more emerges from Kunnumkuzhy road, this time with a plastic bag on his bike and then quickly hurls explosives into the prmises before making his getaway.
