High-risk individuals owing to their past proximity with the deceased child continue to remain in the isolation ward at Kozhikode Medical College. A door-to-door survey of all houses in the containment zone is currently underway. There have been no unnatural deaths or any case of odd fever in the area in days since the tragedy, the minister said.
94 people with fever have been identified although they do not feature in the contact list at all. Also, none of them exhibit symptoms of any complication. Still Nipah and Covid tests are being done on these individuals. Testing is being carried out via mobile labs set up in the containment zones.
The Sero Survey initiated by Health Department will conclude by end of September. Matters including school reopening shall be considered after that, the minister said.
