Kozhikode : Leaders inside League blame PK Kunjalikutty as solely accountable for Enforcement Directorate’s(ED) pulling up of Panakkad Shihab Thangal. Neither party workers nor leaders will accept Kunjalikutty’s view not to make an “issue” of the matter. They are not content with Kunjalikutty downplaying allegations raised by KT Jaleel as much ado about nothing. Let’s leave out Jaleel. What possible answer could Kunjappa give to KS Hamsa Sahib's accusations ? Incidentally, party workers demand that Kunjalikutty provide answers to points raised by Hamsa Sahib during the state office bearers’ meeting.
At the gathering, Hamsa had lashed out saying “Chandrika has become League’s hub for money laundering. It has led to a situation where Hyderali Thangal gets questioned by ED - the development has caused deterioration in Thangal’s health condition. In subjecting Panakkad family to ED questioning, Kunjalikutty has in effect handed Thangal and the party for execution.” Hamsa further alleged that the investigation revolves around Rs 10 cores from Palarivattom flyover corruption invested in Chandrika daily. Notably, the allegation came at the meeting attended by ET Muhammad Basheer, Sadiqh Shihab Thangal and other party heavyweights and none offered a correction or a differing view point.
Also MK Muneer’s comment pointed the finger of blame directly at Kunjalikutty. “Panakkad family is bound to preserve its credibility, failing which, God will confront for answers. Thangal family is obliged to stand up to that obligation,” Muneer had said. At the meeting PK Basheer MLA disclosed a question a furniture merchant had raised asking if there was a need to consider KPA Majeed as candidate for polls. Who makes decisions for the party, Basheer asked the meeting. Protests in party rungs now hinge on all these views raised at the meeting.
