Thrissur : With eyes on upcoming Panchayat Elections, MLA Anil Akkara is propagating falsehood, said Minister AC Moideen in Thrissur on Monday. Anil Akkara is vainly targeting Life Mission in Wadakancherry to cover his own inadequacies, the minister said. However the lies he is sowing will however not sprout here, AC Moideen added.
Anil’s false propaganda reflects his desperation, given that the MLA has rendered nothing useful to his constituency in all this time, said Moideen. Life Mission is a project designed for people’s wellbeing and funds ranging from voluntary organisations to central funds have been deployed toward its works. No housing scheme of this kind was ever initiated by the UDF government during their tenure, the minister pointed out.
Life Mission is being worked out in three phases. In phase-1, the building works for those houses whose construction could not be completed by their owners were taken up and brought to a finish. 96.5 percent of this phase is completed with scores of families already settled into their new homes.
The second phase involves building houses for those who own land but never could attempt to construct a home over it. And, the third phase entails constructing homes for people who have neither any land nor a house of their own. Lands donated by government, public sector units and local self bodies are utilised to build homes in flat complexes for this third category. In the first lap of this phase, flats were handed over to 217 families in Idukki’s Adimali last year.
Tender procedures for remaining constructions are underway at 41 locations, where the stone laying ceremony will be officiated by Chief Minister in the coming week. Wadakancherry too is one among such locations where construction tenders are being processed for, said the minister. All proceedings thereof are being carried out in full transparency, AC Moideen added.
