Thiruvananthapuram : The child given away in adoption allegedly without the mother’s knowledge in Peroorkada, will be brought back to Kerala in 5 days time. The order to the effect, issued by Child Welfare Committee(CWC), was handed to Child Welfare Council – a copy of which was given to Anupama as well 11 am today. DNA test to verify match will be carried out once the child touhes Kerala and further proceedings as per CWC order will be carried out, said Commission For Protection of Child Rights.
Meanwhile, the bail plea from Anupama’s father, Jaychandran, is due for court hearing today. He is charged with fabricating false documents for purpose of giving away the grandchild in illegal adoption. The case arraigns five persons in all, including Anupama’s mother. Except for father, all others had applied for and secured bail earlier.
Notwithstanding the news on child's return, Anupama is continuing her protest in front of the Child Rights Commission office, seeking that investigations be conducted after suspending accused staff responsible from their duties. The child is currently in foster care of a couple in Andhra Pradesh’s Phustur.
