Kochi : Actors who create hassles and interfere unnecessarily wth post-production work should be shown their place, said the federation of technical workers, FEFCA. A few actors in the Malayalam film industry are trouble makers. They hand out identical date and time slot to several producer. They meddle with editing as well. The producers must take steps to show these people their place.
“It is distorted notion of one’s stardom and lack of understanding of what acting means, that’s reason for Malayalam cinema hitting all-time low”, said FEFKA General Secretary B Unnikrishnan at a press conference. The names of actors who lodged complaints are not being disclosed now, Unnkrishnan told reporters.
Unnecessary interference with technicians’ works creates crises. These people ask for edited shots to be shown and whoever they name. After this they demand re-editing. This kind of unwarranted interference is seen even for films that are being dubbed.
Technicians are accountable only to producers who pay them for a particular film. None else can be allowed to fool around. This kind of hassle has been discussed with the producers. FEFCA will support any action decided by the Producers Association.
Some actors are not willing to sign the mandatory contract with Producers Association before the film starts to shoot. The contract system was introduced afater consultation with the actors’ organisation, said Unnikrishnan..
