New Delhi : As hate smoke billows in several parts of the country, Kerala stands  as symbol of unity, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan,  speaking at the inaugural of renovated Travancore Palace in New Delhi. Cultural diversity is under fierce attack all over the country; Manipur is witnessing result of attempts to unite diversity, said CM.

The Travancore Palace would become  answer to how best to utilise a governance system handed from another. The Palace will now symbolise the changing Kerala. What’s needed is to transform that which is handed down from royal era to match the present, said CM.

The pluralism of Keralite life will be reflected here. We live in times where need to preserve the contemporary and cultural diversity  assumes added significance. Severe attacks on this are painful. It is such news that emerges from places including Manipur. Smoke of hatred  swarms in several parts of the country. This does not happen on its own. It happens as consequence to political interests of some people, said CM.

Place should transform into an aura  that radiates the cultural spirit of Kerala, said CM and  also made references to writers Mukundan and ONV who had said Delhi shared a lot in bond with Kerala.
