Thiruvananthapuram : Lookout notice has been issued for the 3rd accused, Sunil Narayanan, in assassination attempt of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan aboard Kannur - Thiruvananthapuram flight on 13th June, Monday. Sunil went into hiding soon after the incident. Meanwhile, the high-level investigation team will hold its meeting in Ernakulam during the day.
Data has been collected from the airliner Indigo on all three men responsible for the in-flight attack . DGP ordered Crime Branch SP Prajeesh Thothatill for a probe that would shed light on the conspiracy involved.
The investigation team approached the court seeking custody of Farseen Majeed and Naveen Kumar who were sent into remand after arrest. Testimonies from other passengers on the flight were taken down yesterday. Their statements were recorded by Shankumukham Asst. Commissioner. In the meantime, the case has been shifted to Principal Sessions court in Thiruvananthapuram. The admission was allowed following Prosecution request seeking transfer.
The case shall be tried by Judicial First Class Magistrate Court II, meaning bail application of the accused, Prosecution plea and all shall shall be heard by Principal Sessions Court in the capital.
Prosecution told the court the in-flight attempt was genuinely purposed to assassinate the Chief Minister. The assailants chose flight for their crime scene given that, it was space with least security. The prime accused, Faseen Majeed has 13 cases to his criminal record.
