Thiruvananthapuram: Assembly Election in the state is likely to be announced on Feb 15, said Chief Electoral Officer Tikaram Meena.
The Model Code of Conduct will come into force same as on the announcement day. It has been decided to hold elections at one go in small states meaning Kerala will have its polls conducted in a single phase.
The Election Commission is currently touring states of Assam and Bengal after which the team will visit Kerala, a time when political parties here can raise their demand, said Teekaram Meena.
The final voters’ list will be published on Wednesday. Those whose names might be missing would be allowed further opportunity to submit their application, said Meena.
