Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) urges Election Commission to conduct Assembly elections 2nd and 13th of April, so the entire process is completed before Vishu and Ramadan. CPI(M) view was put forth by leaders Anathalavattom Anandan and KN Balagopalan during discussions held with Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora.
At the meeting, all expressed agreement for elections to be held in a single phase. LDF and UDF representatives asked for elections in April while BJP in solo suggested for postponement until May.
The 2016 were held in month of May thus the May suggestion, said BJP representatives George Kurien, an dAdv S Suresh. UDF suggested dates between 8th and 12th of April. Its representatives at the meeting comprised PC Satheeshan, KC Joseph, MK Muneer and K Prakash Babu.
