Thiruvananathapuram: Infant death in Attapadi was not owing to lack of medical attention, said Minister K. Radhakrishnan. The child died in a far-fetched isolated stretch and the govt aims to rehabilitate all of 13 families living in the hamlet. Officials in sufficient numbers have been assigned to each hamlet, the minister added.
Context : Three-month old baby girl of Ayyappan – Saraswathi couple died on Monday. Following postmortem at the hospital, Ayyappan had to trek four kms carrying dead baby in his arms to reach his remote hamlet of Murugala knit by mud road and a tree-trunk bridge over a fiercely flowing canal.
