Palakkad : Trekker Babu who was rescued by Army men from crevice 600 meter up a steep rocky mountain, has left hospital with health back to normal. He was medically monitored for 2 days before letting him off after ascertaining health condition to be satisfactory.
The rescue operation was unprecedented and people waited with bated breath until the moment he was hauled out from the treacherous heights, where helicopter rescue was impossible owing to the spot being embedded inside of the steep mountain wall.
Babu was upbeat following the rescue however, he coughed some blood upon drinking water. Post the rescue to the mountain top, a helicopter fetched him to the ground from where waiting ambulance transported him to the District Hospital.
Babu was put on regulated diet owing to two day of total starvation in extreme weather. However, he consumed normal meals last evening and underwent full medical checkup with fine results, before being discharged today. He has been advised a week's rest and follow-up examination at the hospital later.
