Central Agencies Flip Flops On Havala Case ; ED Refuses To Probe Despite Complaint, Arrests

Thiruvananthapuram : Central agencies refuse to investigate havala  fund that BJP transported into the state for rigging elections here. Though police made their arrests of culprits involved in the havala deal both Enforcement Directorate(ED) and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence(DRI)  choose to feign ignorance. Interestingly, these agencies are known to typically book suo motto case in such instances.  However this time around,  the Delhi head-quartered ED is hesitant to conduct even preliminary investigations  although  complaints are lodged at its offices in Kochi and Kozhikode leading to wide speculation that ED’s refrain might be purposed to destroy primary evidences in the case.

Meanwhile, the Central Intelligence has gathered information and passed them to the Union Home Ministry.  Crores of havala money for BJP  arrived in Kerala from Karnataka on 3rd of April. The illegal consignment was looted at Kodakkara in an attack similar to the one attempted in Palakkad earlier.

If probe runs its due course, apart from Kerala, links the BJP leaders in Gujarat and Karnataka  have with the havala mafia might come to light.  An ED official’s acquaintance   with a BJP senior is reason behind the hesitancy, given that the official has been allowed to remain at the same office over years, with help from the BJP leader.
