Cherupullassery : Sangh Parivar defrauded crores of rupees from depositors through its scam enterprise named Hindustan Development Bank(Hindu Bank) in Cherpullassery. The bank shut down a few days back after being pressed by customers for payback of their deposits with the bank.
15 people have lodged police complaint against the bank’s chairman Suresh Krishna who is an active RSS worker and in-charge of Sangh Parivar’s social media activities. They have an agregrate of Rs 97 lakhs in deposits with the bank. They accuse the chairman of registering vehicles bought for the bank In his own personal name. Meanwhile, the bank’s directors have lodged a complaint against Suresh too. That's more of an eyewash however.
The BJP leaders seek to deceive the depositors into believing that the scam is centric to one person, namely the chairman while the entire scam was operated with full knowledge of RSS-BJP leaders and the police are investigating to determine where all the money went. Many depositors were lured by promise of 16 percent in interest. Depositors include BJP workers too, one of who pawned his wife’s jewelry with another bank and to make deposits with the "Hindu Bank". Money was also collected from numerous people under Rs 2500-Recurring Deposit scheme.
Added to this, BJP workers also collected deposits promising jobs to several people. All of the bank’s directors are RSS-BJP workers.
The bank collected crores of rupees in the first year of opening before pulling down shutters, said depositors in their complaint. Some depositors were unhappy with the bank dealings and asked to return their deposits. That’s when the bank closed down, the complaint read.
The owner of the bank building too has been duped failing to receive any rent paid in past several months. Incidentally, the bank scam comes even as prominent BJP leaders are mired in cases involving havala money, its subsequent robbery and black money transactions.
