Chavakkad :BJP workers openly protested what they realise is vote deal sealed in Guruvayur. The rejection of BJP nomination paper appears dubious and leaders are evasive on the issue instead of providing answers, they said. A RSS-BJP worker from Chavakkad Baby Road led protest against leadership. .
The leaders are intimidating workers whose protests began soon after the news of rejection broke. According to workers, Yuva Morcha leader Prasanan in Guruvayur warned protesters of strong repercussions for the outcry. However. workers maintain they will protest against attempting to cash in on party, whoever that individual might be. The mandalam secretary who promised an explanation never showed up and is now issuing threats on messenger instead, the workers said. The party workers claim there were dubious moves on part of leadership in buildup to the nomination rejection.
BJP leadership is tangled in dilemma, unable to explain why Mahila Morcha state president Nivedetha’s nomination was rejected. The party cannot also thwart accusation that the leadership indulged in vote deal locally. Meanwhile, the party is preparing to lend support to DSJP state treasurer Dileep Nair as Guruvayur candidate.
