BJP Workers Who Attacked Woman At Pavakulam Temple Arrested : Kochi

Kaloor, KOCHI : Police on Thursday arrested BJP workers who attacked a women for reacting to their pro-CAA event, held at Pavakulam Temple in Kochi’s Kaloor.

The five women arrested  include Dr Mallika, Sarala Panicker, CV Sajini, Prasanna Babuleyan and Bini Suresh.

The Jana Jagriti committee at Pavakulam Temple convened a  congregation at its Vishwa Hindu Parishad auditorium  in the premises on 21 Jan, to explain Citizenship Amendment Act(CAA).  As BJP Mahila leader CV Sajini spoke, one among the seated audience, Athira, rose to ask questions. A few women quickly   nudged her to stop talking. Athira then  moved into a clearing near the speaker up on which, more women gathered blocking and pushing her out of the hall.

 A video of the drama where women are seen showering derogatory comments and getting a bit physical, went viral shortly after. As rage around it snowballed into media spotlight, police took note of the incident and booked women attackers.


Women cops from North Police Station are tasked to probe the incident.
