Thrissur: A private bus overturned on Pazhayanoor - Kondazhi route rolling into field below. 30 passengers, the driver and conductor were injured in the accident.
17 have been transported to the Thrissur Medical College hospital. The rest are admitted to hospitals in Ottapalam, Kondazhi and other close localities. According to sources, the condition of two passengers is critical.
The ill-fated bus by the name Sumangali took off from Thrissur and was headed to Ottapalaam via Pazhayanoor.
The Pazhayanoor- Puthirithara bridge has been demolished as part of road construction works and traffic is diverted through Pazhayanoor. The bus was passing through a particularly narrow lane when it tossed out of control.
