Today, 7 New Covid Cases , 2 Recoveries ; Total Cured So Far 124, Under Treatment 238

Thiruvananthapuram, April 10: Seven new Covid-19 cases were confirmed in Kerala today. Three persons in Kasargod district and two each from Kannur and Malappuram districts have tested positive today. The two cases in Malappuram district are Nizamuddin returnees. The other five cases have got infection locally through contact. This was announced by the Minister of Health and Social Justice, Smt K K Shailaja Teacher.
 
 Meanwhile, the test results of 27 patients came negative today. 17 patients from Kasargod district, six from Kannur District, two from Kozhikode district and one each Ernakulam and Thrissur districts are those who have recovered from the Coronavirus infection. The total number of patients cured of Covid-19 and discharged from hospitals is 124, till date.
 
A total of 364  Coronavirus cases have so far been confirmed in Kerala and presently, 238 patients are under treatment in various hospitals.
There was a considerable drop in the number of people under observation in the State. 1,29,751 persons are under observation across different districts in Kerala with 1,29,021 at their homes and 730 under observation in hospitals. 126 people were admitted to hospitals today. So far, 13,339 samples from people with symptoms have been sent for testing and 12,335 samples have tested negative.

 Thiruvananthapuram, April 10: Minister of Health, Smt K K Shailaja Teacher today announced that three more hospitals in Kerala has received the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification. The new Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Kallikaddu, Thiruvananthapuram with 95% points, the Family Health Centre (FHC) at Kalladikode, Palakkad with 94% and the FHC at Nenmanikara, Thrissur with 93% are the three hospitals which got the NQAS recognition. With this achievement, the top 12 PHCs of the country are in Kerala.
 
In her words of appreciation, the Minister said, “This recognition for our hospitals is a great achievement and a big morale booster for our healthcare workers in the midst of Coronavirus prevention activities.”
 
 Recently the FHC at Ottashekharamangalam Pozhanadu, Thiruvananthapuram had bagged the first place with 99% points. Last year, the FHC at Kaiyyur, Kasargod came first with 99%.
“So far, 64 healthcare institutions in the State has got NQAS certification and we are awaiting the national level test results for two. Apart from this, another 88 hospitals have finished the State level inspection and are waiting for the national level tests”, the Minister added.
At the District level, the W & C Hospital, Kozhikode with 96% points is the topper in the country while at the sub-District level, the Taluk Hospital at Chalakkudy with 98.7% is the first in India. Meanwhile, Kannur has the distinction of becoming the first district in the country to have 12 NQAS certificated institutions.
