Kochi :  Overturning trial court ruling, the High Court on Monday allowed for a second forensic examination of the memory card, that contains molestation visuals of a popular actress who was  assaulted in 2017 by a gang allegedly hired by actor Dileep for undetermined motive.

The ruling came from Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas who rejected Dileep’s plea to not allow digging into the said memory card again.  The court was hearing government appeal  against the trial court order disallowing a  re-examination and plea from  the survivor seeking investigations under judicial supervision.

As per court directive, the memory card must be sent to State Forensic Science Laboratory(FSL) in two days’  time. It must also be verified if there is any change to hashvalue of the card which would indicate an  illegal peek into card.

The defendant argued  the card had been once examined whereupon, another testing was unwarranted. However, the court went along with need for forensic proof on the allegation that hash value of the card has undergone change.
