Kochi : The High Court turned down plea seeking to stop screening of controversial move “The Kerala Story” that paints Kerala in bad light and takes a direct aim at Muslim community. In its ruling on Friday, the court clarified the screening may continue. There is no Stay, the court added.
The ruling was handed by Division Bench comprising Justices N Nagaresh and Sophie Thomas on a batch of petitions filed by Thrissur-based lawyer VR Anoop, Girls Islamic Organisation leader Tamanah, Muslim Leage State Secretary C Shyam Sundar and the Welfare Party that alleged the film’s teaser hurt Muslim sentiments and urged to block screening of the film.
The producers submitted to court that the teaser with controversial content would be removed. The teasers shall be removed from all platforms including social media, the producers assured.
