Thiruvananthapuram : The car accident death of class X boy in Kattakada has been confirmed as homicide. Visuals of the crash indicated the hit was deliberate.
The deceased child is Adi Shekar. Police have booked the driver Priyaranjan for murder. He remains in hiding.
On 31 August, Adi was hit by car near Pulingode temple and the case was considered an accident till police checked CCTV footage in the area. In that, Adi can be seen taking off on his bicycle from the temple, and the car that was parked until that time, begins to roll, advances in his direction and soon runs him over. The car’s driver Piyaranjan is a distant relative of the victim.
Adi had an minor altercation with Priyaranjan earlier when he questioned the latter for urinating on the temple wall - an . innocent outrage that cost him his life. Adi Shekhar is son of Arunkumar and Deepa, naitves of Poovachal in Kattakada and was a class X student in Chinmaya Mission School there.
