Kochi : The State must be uplifted for attaining self-sufficiency in food production, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Also to be assured alongside is, environmental protection. This is where the concept of carbon-neutral farms come into play. Agricultural lands that are carbon-neutral, shall be set up in all 140 constituencies.
As part of the project, Haritha Poshaka Gramams(Green Nutrition Villages) shall be devised. Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned toward this for carbon neutral Aithirpilly, said CM, adding that, a document by the name of "Environment Budget" shall be introduced in the next Budget.
