THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : After little over an year of violinist Balabhaskar’s death, the state govt has sought CBI probe into the incident. The direction comes on request of the musicians’ father, who met the Chief Minister expressing suspicions over the nature of crash that killed Balabhaskar and his daughter in 2018.
The case will be handed over to CBI in a week’s time, said the Chief Minister’s office on Tuesday. The case took a curios turn after the deceased musician’s close friend Prakash Nambi, was nabbed in a major gold smuggling case in the city a few months later. The accident took place on 25 September 2018 , when the car in which Balabhaskar and his family were travelling veered off the road and crashed into a wall at Pallipuram in Thiruvananthapuram. Balabhaskar’s two-year old daughter Tejaswani died on the spot while the musician died two days later. His wife Laxmi survived major injuries including multiple fractures.
