Kannur ; In a country lagging far behind other nations in terms of starvation and poverty index, the Centre is trying to destroy the alternate policies pursued by the State government to help its people tide over that situation. , said Chief Minister in Kochi.
Both, the Congress that ushered in globalisation, neoliberalism, and the Centre implementing those policies zealously turn a blind eye to commoners’ lives. Under their rule, the billionaires are enriched further. They do not think of the vast majority that are ordinary people. The commoners are slipping into deep distress owing to unemployment and starvation. And when the State tries to help relieve them, the Centre stands against it.
The unemployment situation is severe. Ten lakh posts llies vacant under the Central government and the Centre is doing nothing to have them filled and provide people their jobs. Employment is being denied in a country that has roughly 90 crore jobless people in working ages. Interventions(detrimental) are also being made in the organized labor sector. There is overwhelming move to scrape minimum wages and the right to organise collectively.
The NGO Union is carrying out many benevolent activities with social commitment. Appreciable interventions including Salary Challenge was carried out. Even so, there is need for greater competency in Civil Service, said Chief Minister, addressomg the inaugural of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the NGO Union in Ernakulam.
