Palakkad: The man who robbed Chandranagar Bank in Palakkad has landed in police net. The culprit, Nibil Ashok, is a native of Nasik in Maharashtra.
He had stayed in the district for over a month preparing for the robbery and was tracked down by analyzing images captured by CCTV visuals from Walayar to Vadakancherry. Police team from Kerala made their arrest traveling to Nasik. The robbery at Rural Credit Society on Marutha Road took place on 26th of last month.
Nibil made away with 7 kgs of gold and Rs 18,000 in cash from the bank. Although it was initially thought to be work of more than one person, found the culprit had acted alone.
Nibil is a career burglar. His style is to surveil the target bank and its surroundings for days together before making the loot. He had fetched his getaway vehicle to Palakkad, a Innova car, weeks before the burglary.
