NEW DELHI : Bhim Army chief Chandrashekar Azad, arrested in Old Delhi during anti-CAA protests has life-threatening medical condition, according to his attending physician. The doctor, in his tweet, urged the Union Home Minster Amit Shah, to have him shifted to AIIMS for necessary treatment.
In a series of tweets, Dr Harjit Singh Bhatti said, Azad suffers from a disorder that requires biweekly dialysis since a year. If not done in time, his blood could get thicker and trigger a sudden cardiac arrest or stroke. Despite informing the Tihar jail authorities, they are not allowing him to visit AIIMS, the tweet read.
Azad was arrested on Dec 21, in connection with violence at Daryaganj and sent to 14 days judicial custody. The court rejected his bail plea . 15 others arrest alongside, were sent for two days judicial custody. The protesters were taken for chanting slogans against National Register of Citizens and CAA and violating prohibitory orders.
