Thiruvananthapuram : Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed condolences in the tragic death of plantation workers in Wayanad after the jeep that carried them plunged into a gorge. The accident that claimed 9 lives in Wayanad accident is saddening.
‘The tragedy has left a whole community in tears. Condition of three are reportedly critical. Minister AK Saseendaran has been directed to coordinate efforts and other emergency services including ensuring treatment for the injured,’ CM said in the press briefing.
The tragic accident : A jeep carrying plantation workers back from work veered out of control and rolled down a gorge close to Mananthwadi killing 9 and injuring 5, three of who remain critical. The accident took place 3:30 pm Friday evening. All casualties were women workers.
