A resolution under Rule 118 is being moved in this House requesting the Central Government to change the official name of our state to 'Keralam' in all languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India. Before that, I would like to bring some important matters to the attention of the assembly.

The government intends to organize exhibitions highlighting our unique resources and cultural heritage, agro-industrial progress and achievements in the field of advanced technology, debates on the achievements of Kerala so far, challenges faced by our various sectors, and future prospects, for a period of one week from Kerala Day this year (2023) on November 1.

Organizing this event, Keraleeyam 2023, which presents Kerala to the world, is a huge undertaking. A comprehensive organizing committee is intended to be formed for its successful implementation. This committee will include the Chief Minister, other ministers, the Honorable Assembly Speaker, the Honorable Opposition leader, former Chief Ministers Mr. V.S. Achuthanandan, Mr. A.K. Antony, Thiruvananthapuram district MLAs, MPs, other people's representatives, and prominent figures in the field of art and culture. Keralaleeyam 2023 will be organized by coordinating the activities of twenty committees. The meeting of the organizing committee is scheduled to be held on August 14, 2023, at Sankaranarayan Thambi Hall of the Legislative Assembly.

As part of Keraleeyam 2023, meaningful debates will be held in various fields with the participation of world-renowned experts. The progress made by Kerala to attract world attention, the problems currently faced by the state, and the efforts being made to create a new Kerala will be analyzed in the debates. Seminars are organized with experts in Agriculture, Fisheries, Dairy Sectors, Land Reforms, Cooperatives, Industry, Information Technology, Tourism, Employment, Migration, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Sector, Higher and General Education Sectors, Public Health, People-Friendly Public Service, Decentralization and Local Governments, and Economic Structure of Kerala. By codifying the ideas derived from this, the vision for New Kerala will be presented as part of Keraleeyam 2023.

As part of Keraleeyam 2023, there will be a presentation of our various art forms and an art exhibition for the public to enjoy and understand the cultural heritage of Kerala. The city of Thiruvananthapuram will be in a festive mood, with events ranging from Kavadiyar to KizhakkeKota, including Book Festival, Film Festival, and Flower Fair.

For the successful implementation of Keralayam 2023, everyone's kind cooperation and valuable suggestions are requested.
