THIRUVANANTHAPURAM :  CM Pinarayi Vijayan's  tour of UAE spells huge success given that, the Emirates Red Crescent(ERC) began construction works at Housing Complex in the state, even as the minister is on the last of his visit. The housing project together with a hospital, was part of UAE’s promise in humanitarian assistance during 2018 flooding, when torrential rains devastated the state.

ERC has begun works at Thrissur’s Vadakanchery where it will build a complex comprising 140 flats for Mission LIFE.  Revenue Department had released land earlier to the Municipality for the purpose.

Red Crescent will spend over Rs 20 crore for the  Vadakanchery complex.. Rs 15 crore will be incurred on  flat constructions, and  Rs 5 crore on a hospital at the site.

The group expects to complete the project by September 2020.

In July the Deputy ERC Secretary General. Fahad bin Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, signed agreement with Mission Life to deliver the project.
