Palakkad : Close on heels of Thrissur upheaval, leadership initiated disciplinary action against BJP members at Palakkad. Eight members including one from the party’s State Council have been dismissed from the party.
BJP district committee president, E Kirishnadas, said 3 panchayat committees - Pukkotcauv, Thenkarishi and Kannadi - have been dissolved. The action comes for gross violation of party instructions, he said.
The State Council member has been sacked for working against NDA candidate during the elections. Others ousted include District Committee member BK Shreelatha, Lakidi Peroor panchayat committee member N Thilakan, Kasrshaka Morcha Lakidi Peroor panchayat vice president Unnikrishnan, Lekidi Peroor Ashok Kuumar, M Syamkumar from Thenkarshi, Shreja Rajendran from Marutharod and Smita from Ottapalam.
Earlier, there was action en masse against BJP members in Thrissur in similar fashion. Then fired were : 9 members including Hindu Aykavedi District General Secretary K Keshavdas and former Corporation councillor Lalaithambika, The dismissald hold good for 6 years from now.
Lalitambika was sitting councillor at ward that B Gopalkrishnan lost in recent polls. She was accused of moblising votes against Goplkrishnan to prevent his win.
