Osaka, JAPAN : Aimed at securing greater cooperation in terms of finance and technological know-how, the high-level delegation led by Chief Minister touring Japan and Korea, reached Osaka, to attend a slew of investment seminars there.
Ministers EP Jayarajan and AK Sashieendran accompanied the CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Planning Board Chairman PK Ramachandran and Chief Secretary Tom Jose, received the delegation at Osaka on Sunday evening.
CM spoke with the Malayali community comprising students, business entrepreneurs and technology experts there. Malayalis settled overseas have played a significant role in times of crisis back home, said the minister.
The govt looks forward to greater participation of its overseas citizens in the state’s developmental activities, Chief Minister said. Lok Kerala Sabha has been formed as a step in this direction, Pinarayi added.
Kerala has been facing floods since two years now. Japan is renowned in its knowledge and skills on disaster preparedness. The present tour is aimed at having such specialized knowledge shared, Pinarayi said in his address.
The visit lasting up to 30 Nov in Japan and from 1 Dec upto 4th in Korea, is focused on financial and technological cooperation from these countries in the Industrial, educational, tourism and fisheries sectors of the state.
